My name is Smidge and I’m looking for that special someone who is patient and is willing to take the time to get to know me. I am a very joyful little girl and wag my tail with enthusiasm every chance I get.  I absolutely love being around people and other dogs (cats are ok too), but because of my scary past, I am afraid of hands and nervous about being touched or held.  I might try to get away, but I’m getting more used to being touched and sometimes I actually like it.  I have come a really long way since I’ve been with my foster family, but I need to continue my journey in my forever home.   I’m not really cuddly yet, but 

I’m sure I can learn to snuggle up with the right person.  I am housebroken and will definitely let you know when I have to go outside.  I will also use a potty pad if it’s available.  I am crate trained.  Sometimes I prefer to sleep in my crate and sometimes I like to curl up on the end of the bed with my foster mom and dad, just not too close. I almost always come when I’m called.  I love treats! Even though I’m not too sure about being touched, I will take treats right from your hand and come back for more! I might even give you a kiss on the hand to thank you.  I am young and my foster mom says I’m really smart. With time, patience and love I will be an awesome, lifelong companion.
