*adoption pending*Meet Didi! This little girl was wandering down a busy highway in South Texas. We pulled over, and tried to get her to come to us. She was so scared, it seemed like we'd never catch her. With the efforts of half a dozen caring humans, and two friendly d ogs, she was finally brought to safety. Her owners could not be located.  She weighs 10 lbs. Best guess is that she is an Italian Greyhound/Terrier mix. She is about one year old.

She is a friendly, happy pup, who loves to lick and mouth your fingers, (her favorite way to show affection!), but she is gentle with her teeth, and never bites down hard. Didi likes to meet new people, and she is polite about it!  Didi enjoys long walks, and could easily keep up with an active person, but she is quiet and peaceful in the house. Really, she doesn't seem to bark much.  This girl loves to snuggle, and is quick to “horn in” on any affection to other dogs in the house!  Didi wants to sleep right next to you. By that, I mean plastered smack against you!  She sleeps the night through, and doesn't need a potty break at dawn, Thank God!   Didi has had very few accidents in the house. I would say she is house trained at this point, but accidents almost always occur when changing households.

Didi is glad to meet any dog, even very large ones.  She loves to play with other dogs, and s he is as playful as a puppy, but gentle.  Didi is a rocket in the dog park!  She loves to race for thrown toys, but is not possessive of the toys at all. She just likes to see if she can get the toy first—then she’s okay with letting it go.   Didi “failed” cat testing by paying too much attention to a cat being held by the cats owner. She even barked...twice!  Didi barks very little, so this was a big deal to her.  Didi is not afraid of youngish children, (age five or so) , she just treats them the same as she does adults. Toddlers and small dogs are not a good combination, but a well behaved school-aged child would be fine as part of her new family.

Anyone who thinks Didi is the dog for them should be willing to provide supervision at all times outside. She does not reliably come when called,  and she is very fast, so keeping her safe on leash is a must. If left unsupervised and alone, she could dig a hole big enough for her slender body to go under a fence in minutes flat!  We work constantly on the "wait" command at exit doors, both house and car.  She is about 97% proficient!

She is up to date on her vaccinations now, micro-chipped and spayed. Didi is staying with us in our RV here in South Texas.  She will travel with us to New Mexico/Arizona March 15th and finally back to Michigan by May. If you are interested in Didi, and think we might be passing through your area, contact us.  We would be glad to make room in our schedule for a meeting.  Didi is a little darling, and we hope to find her a forever home as soon as possible, even though she fits in with our group, is a very easy dog to live with, and is SO easy to love
