Gracie is:
Adorable, cuddly, playful and sweet. Little Gracie’s biggest wish is to be the center of your universe! Gracie loves her person more than anything, whether that means cuddling on the couch or following them from room to room. She is fun and playful – she loves fetching a stuffie and will bring it back to you and politely ‘drop it’ when asked. Gracie appears to have had some training and knows ‘sit,’ and she is used to going outside to potty – she has never had a pee accident in her foster home so far. When she came to rescue she needed to gain a little weight so she has had a few poo accidents inside, but foster mom thinks it is because her body was getting used to eating more dog food (a normal amount) every day. Gracie is crate trained and has never had an accident inside her crate.
While in foster care Gracie has shown a definite preference for women (she tolerates men, and will eventually warm up to them over a few days), so it would be great if a woman could be her primary care taker.
Gracie has also shown a tendency to be a bit overprotective of her person, especially when new guests enter the house. She has nipped (not bitten) at the hands or ankles of guests entering the house, so for that reason, she would need a home without small children or small children visitors. She is currently being fostered with a female toddler and has never been anything but sweet to her, but it’s better to be on the safe side. In an ideal world, her perfect adopter would be a woman that is well versed in dog behavior so they could correct Gracie before she ever tries to get nippy with guests (or else she would need to be crated or put in a separate room when guests come over).
Gracie is currently being fostered with other dogs without incident but she does not need a canine companion, she would probablyprefer to be the only dog in order to lap up all the affection!
