Gilbert is an Alpha dog and has all the Xolo traits that should be understood  as this is a primitive / ancient breed. He is loyal and protective of his domain including his toys and food.  He does not get along with my big dogs. He scares one so bad she will run the other way if she see s  him or Albert.  The other dog is a PIO which has many of the same traits and they are also an ancient breed . My PIO dog is three times bigger and very happy to mix it up with the boy.  I have to keep them seperated  so they do not get hurt.   They do get along with the small dogs. Gilbert is very loving and affectionate. He love s  people and gets so excited to see us come home from work. He wiggles so much I think he is going to break in half. Along with the wiggles and jumping, he barks till you pick him up or he calms down.  He  loves his toys and will drag them around and often leaves them outside to be found the next day and dragged back into the house.  The two boys sleep together or fight over the same spot. I never know where they slep t  till I get up in the morning.  When they get very excited they can go off on each other and I have to break it up.  O ne minute later they are best friend and are always together.  He is a great fan of "catch me if you can game" ,  when I need them to go  out side to pee.  It is mostly, game on, when I need them to go, not when they need to go out.  He has only had a few accidents in the house and does well with house training. When he first came they peed everything but after a few weeks it has stopped and he is doing great.  I have not found any markings on anything.  He is UTD on shots and neutered. He is heartworm neg.  and on  monthly heartworm  preventative.  If interested in Gilbert contact Suzanne Yancey at crested@sbcglobal.net
