Harry  is being fostered in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Harry is the sweetest, most loving little guy, and a real joy to be around! He is snu ggly but not annoyingly so,  is well mannered  and knows “sit,”  and  is  generally a good boy who loves his people.  We do not have AKC paperwork for him so we do not know if he is 100% Yorkie, but he is marked/looks like one (with an undocked tail), although at 13 pounds he is definitely on the larger side for the breed.

Harry is potty trained, but like any dog in a new situation he may need some positive reinforcement in a new environment. He is fine wearing  a belly band, so that  should  make his trans ition to his forever home  easier .

When he came into rescue Harry was very itchy and missing most of the hair on his back, but he is now all healed up and looks great! He is doing well on a daily dose of ½ a tablet of Apoquel and a medicated bath once a week, so in order to k eep him looking and feeling great , that routine will need to be continued in his new home. Any new owner should be prepared to spend about $200 a year ex tra (in addition to his food,  monthly heartworm and flea/tick prevention and yearly vaccines) on his Apoquel and shampoo—but he is well worth it! He is eating a non-prescription grain-free food and is doing great on it.

Harry loves playing with toys , chewing bones  and fetching, but he does not enjoy sharing his toys or his food, so although he is the absolute s weetest with people , to set him up for success he should be the only dog in the home.

He is crate trained and has been crated whenever h is foster parents leave the house , so for his safety and routine’s sake, he should be crated in his new home as well. He is a little barky  after  he goes in the crate and when you come home to get him out, but otherwise, he is generally a very quiet, gentle guy. And c’mon, how cute is he in his little hoodie?!?
