My goal in life is to be a lap dog. I love nothing more than to sit on my foster mom's lap, cuddle up and take a nap. Yep - I'm a total cuddle bug. I like to keep her in my sight, so I usually follow her around, just in case she needs my help with anything . I'm generally a pretty quiet guy, but when my foster family returns home after being gone even for a short time, I'm beyond excited. I guess I need to learn a few manners, but I'm just so happy to see them and I want my people to know how much I missed them. I also get along really well with the other dogs in my foster home . I've never met a cat, so I'm not really sure about them. When people come to visit, I like to go up to them and sniff them out. I'm still pretty cautious around new people, but if I think they are nice I warm up pretty quickly. Loud noises and quick movements can startle me though.
I have a few issues, but nothing major. It seems I'm sensitive to some foods containing chicken, beef or lamb. They make me kind of itchy. Since I've been eating fish/salmon or rabbit based dog foods I haven't had any problems. And I think they are really tasty! Also, since in my former life I was never given a heartworm preventative, you guessed it, I got heartworm. The treatment was rough, but now I'm finished and I'm heartworm free. I do require a heartworm check in 6 months and again in a year, just to be sure I'm still in great shape with none of those nasty heartworms . I have to take it easy for a few weeks , which will give me time to fully recover from the heartworm treatment as well as get know my new family. After that I can run and play just like any other dog. I am looking forward to finding my forever home where I can be part of a family that will love me for me , and I guarantee I will love them back big time!
