Cogburn is super laid back and chill. With a small pile of toys, he can entertain himself all day long. He has a couple of absolute favorites that he will definitely bring with him to his forever home! Although he does appreciate it if he has your attention he doesn’t require a lot of it. He does love to play fetch and go for short walks when the opportunity arises. He has a surprising amount of energy when he plays fetch or shakes his toy. He enjoys snuggling on the sofa under a blanket. He has a knack for tucking himself in whenever he wants to nap. He is calm and mostly sleeps when he is home alone (we monitor by security camera here). He is crate trained but really does not like being in a crate. It stresses him (also noted by security camera monitoring). He would prefer to sleep with his human but settles for the sofa here and is good all night long. He usually sleeps until around 7 am and will play with his toys until someone gets up. Cogburn is an older gent. He is very gentle with children but would do best in a calm, quiet home or in a home with older children. He travels well.
One thing that you will notice is that Cogburn is on the larger side for the Boston Terrier breed. He is super sweet and gentle. He greets visitors calmly and quietly with a toy in his mouth and a butt wiggle. He does not jump or bark. He truly is a gentleman.
Cogburn lost an eye because of untreated dental disease. The infection spread behind his eye and caused it to rupture. His health issues have been treated and the missing eye does not slow him down one bit. He is not at all skittish even if approached from his blind side. He is an absolute sweetheart and will be an excellent companion for some lucky person/family.
