Hello! I’m Daphne. I’m a cute little Maltese with a sparkling personality. I had kind of a rough time earlier this year. I was found wandering around, lost and frightened. My fur was so badly matted, I was afraid I might lose my leg. I was basically the poster child for neglect. Fortunately, after excellent care from the vet, some good eats and lots of TLC in my foster home, my fur is soft and silky, my leg is healed and I can run with the best of them – and I’m really fast! After all of that, I’m just 8 pounds of down right adorable!
Although I’m pretty shy until I get to know you, I never met a lap I didn’t like. I love to snuggle next to my person and help them relax while watching TV. I will even let you sleep with me in your bed. I get along great with the other dogs in my foster home, although if someone tries to steal my lap, I let them know I was there first. Overall, I’m a very happy girl – you can tell by my expert tail-wagging. I like to play with toys and I get super excited when it’s time to eat. I’m very quiet and don’t actually ever bark. I am very patient and don’t even put up much of a fuss when I’m having my teeth brushed. Yep, I’m a real trooper.
I do have a medical issue – a heart murmur – which requires me to be on medication twice a day, probably for the rest of my life. The pills run about $1 per day. I wanted you to be aware of that, but I’m totally worth it. Because of the heart murmur, it was determined that anesthesia would be extremely risky. Therefore, it was decided that spay surgery was not an option. As a result, I need to go to a home where I am the only dog, or at least to a home where other pets have been altered.
So now that you know what an adorable, cooperative, quiet and happy girl I am, perhaps your home can be my forever home, and I can bring some of my positive energy into your life.
