Rufus - located in Western Pennsylvania
Hey! My name is Rufus........................foster Mom calls me Roo, Roofus the Doofus and other silly names. I am an approximately 9 year old Xoloitzcuintli.....yeah I know that's a really BIG word.........I like Xolo for short. If you want to learn about my breed here is the link
https://www.akc.org/dog-breeds/xoloitzcuintli
I might have a little Chinese Crested thrown in for extra loveability. Mom says I am a chunky monkey right now - hey I lost 3 pounds since coming here what more does she want - but she says I could stand to loose a little bit more so that someone can find my hips! I like the other dogs in the house as long as they don't try to steal my food. The cat? Well, she and I have a truce.....she leaves me alone and I let her sleep in my bed during the day. I like exploring the back yard when its warm.....now with all the snow it's not so much fun. Okay so I have to let Mom talk now........................
Rufus likes to be cuddled and snuggled and will crawl up to stick his nose in his human's neck for cuddles. He sleeps in an open crate at night and sometimes will come up to sleep under the bed covers with the rest of the dogs. He is funny to watch in his crate.............he has a very large blanket that he manages to wrap himself up in at night.....so tangled that he has trouble getting out in the morning. He has a series of growls and moans....anything from a growl that he doesn't want to get out of his crate in the morning (I'm not going to work today Mom) to groans when he is being petted and another growl when trying to put his paws into his jammie legs. He will need a home with respectful dogs his size or smaller and children who are older. He isn't fond of small children and their sudden movements. His new home will need to continue to try to get at least another pound or two off his chunky money butt as it is best for his long term health.
