My name is Bert.  I was found as a stray hiding under a car and scared to pieces.  A nice couple picked me up and gave me to a great rescue.  When my foster mom tried to figure out what to call me, I perked up when she said “Bert” and I came right over to her.  Believe me, a whole bunch of friends tried really hard to find my people—they put up signs, posted on social media, and even contacted local Animal Services—but nobody claimed me.  That made me very sad.

Fortunately, I found lots of love with my foster family and soon began to feel right at home. Everyone thinks I'm just adorable - who am I to argue with them!  I’m a pretty quiet little guy, but will speak up if I see something interesting. I have to guard the home front you know—all 8 pounds of me!   I’m not a kid anymore.  I’m probably around 9 years old, so I’m very fond of naps, belly rubs and cuddles.  I’m fit as a fiddle though! I get along just great with the other dogs in my foster home. My all-time favorite thing is to snuggle up in bed at night next to my person.  I hardly take up any room and it makes me feel safe.  So now I’m looking for my forever person and my forever home.  You might say I’m a Bert looking for an Ernie—or Ernestine.
