My Name Dewey, I am a 5 month old American Pit Bull terrier, Chinese Crested mix. I currently reside in Texas with my foster family.  They have dogs both big and small for me to play with all day.  They are teaching me good dog manners such as how to play nicely and take my turn for attention and treats. I figured the doggie door out quickly. I am doing really well with house training. I am very good in my kennel. Sometimes I take it upon myself to nap in it during the day as well as sleep in it at night. My foster family is very good about answering my call in the middle of the night, on the rare occasion nature calls.  I enjoy playing outside in the yard by myself or with the other dogs.  I like to stay with the humans and I’m pretty good about coming when they call.  My foster family has cats and chickens and I am trying to learn they have a personal space I should respect. I want to play with the cats so badly, but they don’t want to play back so I usually leave them alone.   I love toys of all kinds. I especially like bones of all shapes and sizes. I am not possessive of my toys and I will happily share with the other dogs and the humans if they ask. I'm good in the bathtub -  I think I like water but I haven’t had the chance to swim yet. I am good on the grooming table although, I might jump if I’m left up there on my own. I am used to the hair dryer, bushing, and getting my nails clipped. I like to go on walks, outings, meet new people, and see new things.  I travel in the car in a crate well although you will have to help me get in the car I don’t know how to jump in just yet.  I walk very well on a leash already. I’ve been in a few different stores, seen a few different things and have handled it all well.  My foster family says I’m a very good boy when we go out in public. I have met all sorts of humans big and small and I love them all. Humans are so nice, they call me a pretty boy and give me scratches. I am learning how to sit, down, and leave it. My foster family says I am doing very good. I am a low to medium drive dog. I think I will be fine to lay around the house or go for walks. My foster family thinks that with some training I might make a good candidate for a therapy dog, because I love people so much and I have such a calm demeanor. I am a pleaser and enjoy making the humans happy which of course gets me treats and I love treats! I am not a very vocal dog. I do not bark when someone is at the door and I don’t bark much in the yard. I do make some funny noises when I play with my other doggo friends.  I think I will make a great addition to any family and cannot wait to enjoy snuggling on the couch in my forever home.
