Lady Gaga, like her best bud, Jake, is a sweet little girl.  She was very shy when she arrived, more shy than Jake, and in fact she hid under the bed several times, but she came around within a couple of days.  She’s a bit higher energy than Jake and likes to do spins and circles when excited.  She tends to allow Jake to take the lead in social situations (Jake will always get the lap first), but in the fenced yard, when she can go wherever she wants, she’s very independent and likes to explore all the nooks and crannies, unlike Jake, who stays close by his human.  She’s been eating well, but she will let Jake hog the food dish, so being fed from a separate dish ensures she gets her share.  She seems more or less housetrained, but has also had some accidents, so she would likely benefit from being re-housetrained at square one in her new home.  She also will pee on the last couple of stairs on her way down to the yard, so I wonder if she’s got a bit of urge incontinence (I’ll ask the vet about this at our appointment in a couple of days).  She has a cute little underbite that is quite endearing.  She can make it up to the bed if she tries hard, but we’re working on teaching her how to use the doggie stairs instead so that she doesn’t hurt herself.  She isn’t all that interested in toys but does have a favorite (her pig) that she likes.  She seems to get along fairly well with other dogs but so far, isn’t all that interested in doing more than coexisting with them.  If she is left in a room with the door closed, she won’t hesitate to let you know she wants to be with you by barking and scratching at the door. Both Jake and Lady Gaga would be wonderful companions for someone who works at home as they just want to be with their human and are quite happy to settle down and snooze while their human works.
