Petey is a lot of dog in a little package!

He is bright, playful and inquisitive. He would love to be your constant companion and spend all day with his chosen person.
Petey is very athletic and will launch himself into your lap (and also onto the kitchen table, which we are working on!) He enjoys playing with toys and gets along well with other dogs.

Petey is 100% house trained and crate trained. He is very smart and would likely respond well to advanced trick training.

Petey has strong opinions about how he likes to be petted and will let you know if he doesn’t like a certain thing. He has some blackheads on his skin and is suspicious if he thinks you are going to poke or mess with his skin. Petey does not love to wear clothing, but will tolerate sweaters. He is not a dog who wants to play dress up.
Petey has improved so much while in foster and is much more confident and people oriented but he does still occasionally snap. For this reason he should go to a primarily adult home, but he is not aggressive towards children and will happily snuggle with a polite child. He is skittish and will bark at strangers, but settles down readily and will allow petting after a few treats.

Petey does not like cats and should not go to a home with a cat, he will chase, bark and pounce on cats.
