*** adoption pending***Hello my name is Skylar.   I am a 7 year young Chinese Crested Powder Puff who is looking for a family that I can call my own.   I am a huge love bug;  I want nothing more than to sit on your lap, cuddle and give you kisses;  I LOVE to give kisses!!  I am curious and love to follow you around and watch what is going on.  I ADORE food; my food, human food, cat food;  I just love it.  That makes me very easy to train, but I can also forget commands sometimes if the food smells really good.   I am completely housetrained;  I will go to the door if I need to go out.  I walk very nicely on a leash and know quite a few commands;  sit, stay, down.  I also know "up up"  which means I will jump up into your arms for a big cuddle and kisses;  but only if you ask me.   I am great with other dogs; although sometimes I try to steal their food;  I am good with cats and older children.   I don't mind being groomed at all; although I am a little fussy with having my feet touched, but I am working on it.  I get a little nervous in the car; but I love going out and exploring so I am working on being more relaxed in the car. 

 I have so much love to give; all I want is a family to call my own that will cuddle me, spoil me and let me curl up close and go to sleep with them. Are you that family?

 

A word from Skylar's Foster Mom:   

 

Sklar is the sweetest little guy with a melt your heart expression.  He is gentle and calm;  he really only gets going when someone comes to the house and the whole gang goes off into their song and dance routine.

He is extremely smart and learns new commands and routines very quickly.  He is completely housetrained and will signal his need to go out by going to the door. He is crate trained to a point;  he does not like the crate, but will tolerate it for his meals and when we leave.  

He knows sit, stay, down and a cute trick of "up up".  He is extremely food motivated;  so is very easy to train.  However he will try to sneak the other dog's food or get the cat food and he will attempt to mooch around the table at dinner time.  

He is great with other dogs, cats and older children.  He shares his bed and allows the other dogs to go in and out of his crate.  He will wait politely in line for treats and has no issues.   He likes cats;  but makes no attempt to chase them.

Skylar is leash trained and walks calmly at your side.  He shows interest when greeting other dogs, but will sit and wait if asked.  

Skylar would be the perfect dog for a someone who is home most of the day with no children or older children. Someone who enjoys going out - he would be an amazing Therapy Dog - but also does things around the house as he will happily follow you and curl up to watch what is going on.  Skylar could easily become a member of a pack, but would really blossom if he was an only dog;    His entire desire is to be loved and give love.
