Hi, my name is Mia and I am a Xoloitzcuintli. I am known as the coated version though I’m not completely coated. My foster mom went all the way to Tucson, Arizona to get me and I now live in Abilene, Texas.  I have five other foster furbabies and love all of them. We love to play chase and I’m small enough to hide under the chair where they can’t catch me.

I am around 8 months old and I’m like a sponge wanting to learn everything. Did I tell you that I’m real smart? Only one time did I have an accident in my crate and I learned that I didn’t like that because that’s where I sleep and eat my food. I like my crate, I feel safe and I always get a treat after I go inside.

My foster mom takes me for walks and though I want to smell everything she says that I do real well. We also go to the dog park but I don’t like to play with dogs that I don’t know so I hide behind my foster mom. I do like it when I get to meet the human children, they get my tail to wag and I want to kiss them.

When I first came here I was very timid and followed my brother Quincy but my foster mom says that I am coming out of my shell. I have learned to sit and down to get my after dinner treats and I patiently wait my turn like a good girl. I love peanut butter and get a taste on the end of a spoon. I’m not real happy about bath time but I take it like a big girl, I even like to wear clothes.

The best part of being here is that I get to cuddle with my foster mom on the couch. Do you think I can cuddle with you?
